The specific name came from the name avian since they are bird like creatures. The aviaa will be built around different forms of birds.
The Specific type ive built around here at the moment is from a corax family of Ravens. Im not to sure if i will design other forms of birds in the same way as these guys since I dont quite think the thole teeth and eyes will work with other avian types, I may have to rough out a few sketches before i decide what actually will work with ones im thinking of picking out.
As far as costume styles...im unsure about that, Will have to discuss this with Dave.
Im thinking they could go with medevel style of clothing to since they are kinda of adapting to life with humans but with a futuristic twist in it, ether way i will work on developing the aviaa a bit further and see where i get to with them before I start fidgeting about with armours and styles for them.
