Textured Model





This was the final touch up for Mercia with the texture mapping on her. Was quite pleased since It was my first attempt at texturing a model even though it turned out a little faint.

I must say I was most pleased with the Hair, It came out alot better than I expected :3

Texture mapping




Here it shows some of the texture mapping for the armour that I started Working on.

By colouring it in block colours we where able to colour code the armour relaiting to what part of the body it was. This was also the basic colour that we where building up the texture over.

I then started drawing over the block colour ading some shade and dept to specific pieces faintly. This consisted of things like faint scratches in the metle and so on.

I then took a screen shot of the texture maps id worked on and placed on the model so that I could see if they where working ok.
Unfortunatly my version of Maya wasnt willing to load the textures to the right places So Dave eventually put it all together.

Vehical designs






Twilight Welp - This was the first vehicle design we came up with, again we added in huge gears to make the welp fit into the surrounding world. He was origonally a mount for the avarr . Its body glows a deepish blue/purple with faint sparkles that make it seem like stars at night.
It has 6 large tenticles fixed down the side of its neck. These also glow and addmit a straing pollen that helps wild flowers grow in its environment.

Valient Steed - This was the mount for the humans transport though I would of made it more so that Avarr would use horses to so they all have a fair advantage oh what they ride upon.
The horse is well armoured so that it is less vanerable to any peircing attacks from other creatures and has an advantage of speed.

Fendrasyll - Fendrasyll is the moving castle of the Avarr kingdom, they nest in the giant ent creature. Fendrasyll walks the lands so the kingdom is always on the move making it a hard place to find, let alone well guarded with it being on this giant.
Although Fendrasyll is huge he has no idea of the avarr living upon him.

Other Avarr faces


Some quick pen drawings of some other type of avarr Characters that I did earlier on in the project and forgot to submit XD
They show various ones including the raven ones and parrot ones like the senigal.

Size comparison


Not much about this one really. Quick explination of it is that it was a average size chart of each avarrs aprox height. Roughly drawn but hey shows it ok XD.
Anyhow on the left is the parrot avarr, these span averagly up to 9ft in height.
Next to it is the Hybrid avarr, because they are slightly human and avarr they very from 5 - 7 ft in height.
Lastly is the corax avarr these be huge in build and span up to 10-13 ft in height.
I only showed these main 3 since there the main 3 examples i covered in the project, other avarr heights would most likely be different.

Ambassador mooey






Ok back to the designing on the Ambassador. startong from bottom to top :3.

I started designing some of the facial features for him going through beak sizes, shapes and facial types so that I could pick one that I was happy with. My first choice was the skinnyies faced one since I pictured this character being really scrawny in figure.

So I went with that design and drew out the body which I was really happy with, though he looked a little taller than I wanted him, however he is hunched slightly that would probably reduce his height.
I then changed the face to the one nearest to the top because i felt the old one took away his image of being avarr so i kept the beak and added more feathers to make the face puff out a little more and give him an avian look again.

The one thing I really liked about this character was the monocle XD It gave him such a shiftly look and an effect of authority I also really liked the idea of it being a gear since shiney things attract birds it seemed a random thing to give him.

Verdani the noble


Verdani Is the main avarr Hybrid in the story. Friend to Mercia, she is one avarr that adjusts perfectly to life with the humans. Verdani was one of the few first hybrids that became one after the great crystal shattered and corrupted the land with arcane magics.

She prefers life with the humans than most other avarr, though she does not always agree with the human ways. Personality wise she is a little headstrong meaning she acts first before thinking which gets her into situations however she is very noble and considers Mercia like a sister.

Parrot Avarr



The parrot avarr come from a distant line of avarr and are cousin breeds to the corax avarr.
The Parrots are generally classed in two types which are parrakeets and macaws. The macaws are slightly bigger in build and thicker in facial features where as the parakeets are tinier versions of the parrot avarr.

Personality wise, the parrot avarr are more attatched to nature than the ways of their cousins, where the Corax are fond of building and expanding the parrot avarr respeact thw wilderness. Because of these differences the cousin species do not usually see Eye to Eye and often leads to conflicts.

Sentinal designs



Sentinals are the armoured Avarr, They are usually placed as city guards due to their build.
The corax Avarr usually take the place in this armour since they are the largest and feircer looking of of most avarr species.

Sentinals are not the friendliest of avarr because they are more corrupt to power they are often dis respectful to humans and other races they deem lower than them this can include weaker looking avarr or hybrid avarr.

Anyhow this was a design for the sentinals armour seemed fairly ok though I could of possibly tried out more designs for it?
The helm I drew seporatly so I could add detail in it. The helm is skull structured and fits firmly over the avarrs face. the neck and throte are protected by the body armour so the helm doesnt need it however i drew over a peice of cloth so it looks a bit more decorative.

Bone Idle




These 3 images show a quick look on the Avarrs facial structures, simply from the skull to the full fleshed face.

As most birds, the skull is almost oval in shape and reaches out forwards into the birds bill (beak) the huge eye socket is mainly simular in normal bird structure too so there is nothing uneque or odd about it.
What differs here mainly is the bill size and structure. not all birds have the same bill so as a raven specie this bill should be large and bulky in structure.
Unlike other birds this to has the teeth indented into the beak so that its able to chew and tear into things

The second image shows the skull with a little bit more to it. Here it shows that the eye sits firmly in the middle of the eye socket, held im place by the muscular tissue around the avarrs eye. The rest of the skull would obviously be covered with simular muscular tissue folloed by the skin and the Avars feathers/fur.

The last image is a quick potrait image of the avarr all feathered/fured. they have LONG faces due to the size of their bill so their eyes appear smaller from the front. The feathers/fur also make the face and body appear thicker.

Face of the Hybrids



Like the bodys, the Hybrid Avarr Faces are very much more of a closeness to a human than avian. They have a plume of feathers that sprout out at the back of their head and a softer clump of downey feathers follow, these sprout into a trail of hair (mainly braided).

They have long ears that hang by the side and flop downwards.
Small sprouts of feathers follow up the nose and around the eyes.

Introduction to the Hybrid Avarr




Ok so the Avarr Hybrids where origonally formed by Accidental slip ups of the Avarr mastering and miss using Arcane magics. From the great Arcane downfall all magic in the human reigned regions forbid the avarr from using anymore magic in their world after causes of avarrs taking forms from humans and causing the hybrid avians the human refer to as eavvarsapian

The Hybrid Avarr body consists of skin followed by sprouts of feathers on the body and occur mainly on the face and back as well as legs and arms. Longer feathers meet at the back of the legs and elbows.

Annatomy is generallt the same as a human the legs where tripple jointed but may move them more humaniod So dave can model it a bit easier.

The skin on the front of the legs and arms are a little scaled as a birds foot may be.

Influence for the hybrid Avarr



The Veira are a race of Rabbit Humanoids from the game Final Fantasy 12. I felt that these where a really big influance for my Hybrid Avarr since they had a style of armour that would look light and elegant for my characters to use If I could alter it to my own style.
